 How To Insert Text Logo

Text Logo:
Select the "Add Text Logo" option on the right. The bar will light up. Select the desired font, font size and font options (bold, italic, etc.). Select the text color and shadow color by clicking on the color boxes. Select the shadow offset, and add date, time or serial number to your text. You can also add the copyright symbol ? . This symbol is always printed at the left hand side of the text.
Add the current date and time by checking the corresponding boxes on the right, or use your own desired date and time, in that case you uncheck the current date and time boxes and enter the date and time yourself in the textboxes on the left. You can add a serial number, if you check the "auto-increment" box, the serial number will be incremented after you have saved the current image. You don't have to start with "001", you can also enter the number you want to start with, e.g. "134"or "067". For more info about the serial number read the "Batch Process" section of this help file. All changes to the logo text are immediately visible on the photo.
Note: When you add, remove or change the logo text, the logo will  automatically "jump" back to one of the 5 logo positions (left top, right top, left bottom, right bottom or center), this is done to adjust the parameters to the new length of the text.

Transparent color of the mask: Photo Logo uses the color of the upper left  pixel of the image (pixel 0,0) to set the transparent color. It works best with the "primary" colors, e.g. Red RGB(255,0,0), Green RGB(0,255,0) or Magenta RGB(255,0,255). You can use other colors for the mask, but the results can be unpredictable, e.g. when the mask color is white, all white pixels will be made transparent, including the white pixels in the logo itself.
Tip: Use transparent GIF logos for best results.

 How To Batch Process Pictures

Batch Process enables you to process multiple images. Just put all the images you  want to process in one directory, and run Batch process to add a logo to all the images.

Start Batch Process:
Before you start Batch Process, you must set the logo options in the Face Ace Main Window.

  • Load an image in the Face Ace main window. You don't have to load one of the images you want to process, we just need the image to preview the logo and set its position.
  • Select the logo type: text, image or masked image.
  • If you add a serial number, make sure the number has enough digits to process all the photos you will select in the Batch Process window. So don't select "001" if you want to process more then 999 images, select "0001". If you select the wrong option, Batch Process will show you a message to correct it.
  • If you selected an image logo, don't forget to set the value of the "blend background" slider.
  • Select the position of the logo by clicking on one of the logo navigation buttons. During Batch Process you can only use these 5 positions: top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right and center. If you select another position, Batch Process will use the last used position.
  • Double-click on the photo to preview the result.
  • If you are happy with the result, start Batch Process.
  • Check at the bottom of the Batch Process window if the settings are the same as in the Main window, you can still select another logo type or position. Note: You can only change the text in the main Face Ace window.

  • Select the output file format: No changes, BMP, JPG, GIF, PNG or TIF
  • Check the "Prompt for Errors" box and Batch Process will warn you when errors occur during processing, leave it unchecked if you don't want to be prompted.
  • Check the "Prompt to Overwrite" box if you want be warned before Batch Process overwrites an existing file in the destination directory.
Note: Leave these boxes unchecked when you want Batch Process to do its work without supervision, if errors occur during processing Batch Process will show you a Batch Process report. All errors can also be found in the Face Ace error log file.

How To View Error Log

Error Logging:
All errors that occur during the use of Face Ace are logged in a file. You can access this file by selecting 'File' then 'Error Log' menu choices. The name of the file is "faceace.log". The file is a normal ANSI text document, you can open it with Windows Notepad. If the file gets larger then 50 kB (Windows Notepad can only handle files not larger then 64 kB), it is replaced by a new file. The old file is renamed as "faceace.bck" and serves as a backup file of previous errors.
